If you are not exempt from charges, you will have to pay one of the following charges for each course of treatment you receive:

Band 1 – £20.60

This covers an examination, diagnosis (eg x-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of varnish or fissure sealant.

Band 2 – £56.30

This covers everything listed in band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal or if your dentist needs to extract teeth.

Band 3 – £244.30

This covers everything listed in bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures and bridges.

Urgent appointment – £20.60

If you require urgent care, you will only need to pay one band 1 charge.

NHS Dental Care is still free to children under 18 or under 19 in full time education as well as pregnant women, new mothers and people receiving:

  • Pension credit Guarantee credit
  • Income support
  • Job seekers allowance
  • Working family tax credit
  • Income related employment & support allowance
  • A valid NHS Tax credit exemption card
  • A valid HC2 or HC3 certificate

Please bring proof of exemption at your appointment.
